Cause: Clean Air Pollution

What’s at risk?

There are several main types and well-known effects of air pollution including the release of noxious gases, the greenhouse effect and “holes” created in the ozone layer. Additionally, the release of particles into the air from burning fuel (from automobiles, homes and industrial buildings) is a major source of pollution in the air. Even burning wood and charcoal can release significant quantities of soot into the air. Each of these problems has serious implications for our health and the environment.

About half of the all air pollution comes from cars and trucks. Two important ways to reduce air pollution is to drive less and to drive smart.
