MELTING POLAR REGIONS
Climate change (global warming) is effecting our economy, health and communities in diverse ways. Carbon dioxide and other global
warming pollutants are collecting in the atmosphere like a thickening blanket, trapping the sun’s heat and causing the planet to warm up. These significant changes in the climate can result in increased death rate due to extreme heat as well as drought, loss of wildlife, and melting of glaciers causing the sea to rise, and tsunamis.
WHAT CAN BE DONE?
The biggest cause of global warming is the carbon dioxide released when fossil fuels such as oil and coal are burned for energy. Technology today allows cars to run cleaner and burn less gas, generate alternative fuel from nonpolluting sources and cut our electricity use through energy efficiency.
